Originally formed by its members in 1990 as the Australian Paralympic Federation, the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) is the peak national body responsible for Australia’s elite athletes with a disability. The original members were Australia’s National Sporting Organisations for the Disabled. The primary goal in creating the APC was to establish a unified body to control corporate representation, participation at summer and winter Paralympic Games, marketing and public awareness.
